Bio

Emma Wawrzynek is an undergraduate student studying bioengineering, electrical engineering, and computer science at the University of California, Berkeley. Her research interests include biosensors and biomedical monitoring, particularly with applications in agriculture. Emma will be completing her last semester at UC Berkeley in Fall of 2021, and plans to pursue a Ph.D. after graduating.

Research

Emma is currently working on printed flexible sensors for agricultural applications. She is developing completely biodegradable humidity sensors using sensing layers such as paper, polymer, and starch. She is also partnering with AIFS to develop an integrated sensor for monitoring conditions during produce shipping and processing in order to reduce food waste.
