Graduate Student

Research Advisor: Prof. Ana Arias

BETR Research Thrust: Printed and Flexible Electronics

Bio

Yuhan is a current PhD student in Professor Ana Arias’ lab. She grew up in Shanghai, China, and graduated from Smith College in May 2020 (B.S. in Engineering and B.A. in Physics). Her research interests include printable sensors and systems with biomedical applications and implementations in the MR environment.

Research

Yuhan is interested in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) hardware and sensing systems. She works on printable and flexible pressure and temperature sensors for applications in MR environment such as (1) an integrated sensing unit that monitors patient’s vital signs including heart rate, skin temperature, and respiration rate, and (2) a temperature mapping sensor array that reports coil temperature and prevents patient’s burns. Her other current work focuses on leveraging MRI as an uplink communication platform for biological implants powered and programmed by High Intensity Focused Ultrasound.
